Do I need to get it authenticated?
This is the most common question I get when recruiting teachers. When in doubt, you should always get your documents authenticated. That being said when I received my FBI background checks (I’ve done it a few times) directly from the FBI in the mail, I did not have to. I also know the majority of American Teachers I’ve spoken to have not either if they got it directly mailed to them. If you use a channeler service, you do need it authenticated. The FBI will also not send your background check outside the U.S.
